Coaches on the couch
It all started when…
Coaches On The Couch began life as a lockdown project. It was our way of connecting with, and connecting, friends and colleagues across the built environment industry so that we could share the learning from what was a challenging time.
As we were all spending so much time on our sofas at home we began each episode with the question ‘please tell us something brief and interesting about your couch’?
The first three series of the podcast were recorded through 2020 and 2021 and stand as a ‘real time’ record of how existing and emerging leaders were navigating the choppy waters of a global pandemic. These were captured in a small publication.
AND NOW…
There remain few places where leadership in the built environment is discussed and yet the demands on leaders continue to increase. We continue to explore pertinent topics with inspiring people and to seek out examples of progressive leadership in our sector.
We also kept the first question. It aligns with our focus as coaches and gives our listeners some insight into the human being behind their title.
Over 80 episodes have now been released, all of which are available in the usual podcast places.
If there is anything you would like us to discuss, or anyone you would like to hear from, please do let us know.

GET THE BOOk
For this Learning from Lockdown publication, we asked guests who had been on the virtual couch during the first three series to pause and reflect on the momentous events of those 12 months. In it, they share their thoughts on how the experience impacted them personally and how it affected the way they shape and lead their businesses. Please contact us if you would like a copy.
hear from the interviewees
Below are snippets of conversations we had with many of our previous guests when they attended a Coaches On The Couch event we held in the summer of 2022. Our thanks to Dominique Staindl who recorded the clips during the evening, and to Allies and Morrison for their hospitality.
